Is there any way at all to make this front lip shorter not to hang so low? Choices between a high or low version maybe? I feel a lot of people's concerns in this thread are that this front lip is too low. Thanks!

rumble......jaica is absolutely correct center front is going to hit first. So many of the P-cars are modified and usually the first thing is ride height. On stock cars we have over 5" ground clearance, on shiftercartracer's...not so much. It is really difficult to come up with a "one size fits all" part when the cars are so different. That is one of the main reasons I developed the two piece splitter for the 996 cars. With the two piece I have the ability to adjust for the changes. This does come with a price, $500.00 for the 996 two piece. Basically I make 75% of the splitter twice, do a lot of trimming and fitting and add some expensive Dzus fasteners. I am working on a two piece version for the Cayman and will post pictures and info when it is complete.

My splitter arrived in the mail today and after 20 minutes of install time, I think it looks great. I always felt like the nose looked a little up turned from the side. No longer. Someone above said that pictures do not do it justice, and they are right. Especially, pics from a camera phone, but that is all I got to work with. Drove around town a bit with no problem. Beautiful piece of work Joe. Thank you.

Received mine today . I ordered 6 of the OEM rivets just in case (usually having a part like that on hand insures I wont need it ...LoL)
The item REALLY does look great .

@toddo ... Did you plasti dip it for a matt look / protection ... or ?

I did the plasti dip for the matte look, matches the led spars perfectly. I didn't have to do much prep work either, just cleaned it and sprayed.

I mounted Joe's carbon dive planes to my existing set up. Quality is wonderful and they provide a nice improvement for those who track their Cayman.

We added the dive planes this past weekend during a 3 day DE at Mosport Park (just outside of Toronto, Canada). On day two after the first run we used 3M automotive adhesive to mount the dive planes. The dive planes do provide additional grip in the corners and the front end feels more planted.

These are definitely worth a try ... here are a few pics (sorry for the crappy iphone camera)

Thank you ^^^ . I may go down the road with Matt look .. ... I have a wing that I am installing (Sarona Co) to finish the look & theoretical balance . depending on how that works out will either leave it gloss or do the PlastiDip like you.
Couldn't wait so the splitter is now installed . IT IS AWESOME . fit VERY well .
Best aftermarket fiber product I have ever purchased !

Motofanatic......The splitters are black gel coat/fiberglass. I don't do a lot of CF as these pieces are consumables for track use and I personally would not pay the high dollars for CF to use it up on the track.
Here are a couple of pictures of guys who have painted to color match. They are both 996 TT two piece splitters and coincidentally both set up at 3" clearance.
I am looking at the pictures of these 996 TT. On the white one it appears there is a black portion beneath the top part of the splitter. Is that true.? If so are both parts made out of the same material? On the silver one it looks like one piece, a little HELP!

Thanks in advance

Joe if you were to guess ETA for the 2 piece splitters could you share it with us?

I realize ETAs are subject to change whenever you are working on something new, and you have to service the orders on hand first.

on the white TT it is a very sharp shadow under the splitter. The silver one is a two piece with a very good paint job. Look closely and you can see a couple of the
dzus fasteners. Please look at my Facebook page it has more pictures of the two piece splitters.
I am trying to have a two piece within three weeks.

I would like to thank everyone for the nice compliments and ask you to post pictures of your beautiful cars to my Facebook page (Trying to build an album of my babies).......Thank you

Can you post a pic of the underside of your splitter?

Does your car also have a wing? If so, what are you using if I can ask?
I am interested in adding aero to my 981S and my tech has suggested I might be able to add the dive planes without upsetting the balance since I don't have an aftermarket wing.
My car is used exclusively for tracking so i am definitely not doing this for the cosmetic effect (not that there's anything wrong with that:))
Thanks

No problem ... I am using the Getty Design Interseries hatch, base and wing. I believe the wing is identical to the 996 Cup wing and the base is a Tech Art design.

Also, I have been testing tall and short up rights on my Cayman S (tracks include Mosport & Mid Ohio). The Cayman feels more balanced with the short up rights and top end speed on the straights is improved over the tall up rights. Adding the dive planes definitely added more grip and no top end speed was lost.

Do you have height adjustable suspension? If yes ensure you ask your tech about setting the correct rake as this will have a major impact on the balance.

Joe's dive planes give the Cayman an aggressive appearance ... plus the quality of the carbon and finish is top notch.
