Drain Plugs
(1) Clutch Oil Pan drain, part No 9G1-321-825-02 Sealing Plug: PAF-008-528

I ordered parts to prep for this job and the drain pan part number has been replace with Sealing Plug: PAF-008-528 and is now ~twice the price ($13-14/each).

Thank you Gedwin, I found the recall article on this forum and it states that apply to the 2014 and 2015 Cayman (also Boxters) thank you!

It is VIN specific as well. My 2014C is not currently on the list.

Hi guys, a couple of things: Jeff your bent tube drain idea works!
I also cut down an old irrigation sprinkler the same size as the pan hole and was able to put the socket and torx bit inside it to remove the drain. There was almost no spillage!

How did you and @jjrichar get the siphoning to start with the bent tube into the pan hole? 🤯

I just sucked gently with my mouth until it got in the tube below the pan level and then just let it flow. A longer tube is clearly going to be a help here so you don't ingest any fluid.

I was afraid that was the answer!

I did only do it with water when I conducted the experiment. Would be easy to get the fluid moving by using a vacuum bleeder and then let gravity take over once it gets moving. Or just use a vacuum bleeder for all of the additional fluid removal using the bent hose.

I guess I’ve had worse …. Hoping to do the first fluid flush on Friday, finally

I used a cheap syringe, which next time I will also use to top up the PDK fluid when the engine is running because you don’t need much and it will be easier to handle.

I like that idea. Should help getting the juice flowing out of the pan.

Sanity check please. This Porsche Pentosin Transmission Oil is the correct PDK “clutch fluid” ? P/N shows 000.043.305.13. Someone posted above .12. Thanks.

Thanks for the research and prompt response. I was under the car and second guessing myself.

Got bother fluids swapped. Won’t be able to drive it for at leas a few day .

On the hunt for placemats at the Dollar Store I found these cheap “cutting boards” that did the trick.

Fluid looked pretty good to the naked eye.
